We all talk about teachers and their self care and emotional state, but what about your students? It is so important for teachers and students alike to have a place where they can go to check in with their emotions and themselves.
Why a mindfulness Journal?
I will be honest, I was looking through Teachers Pay Teachers and I didn’t see a whole lot when it came to the headspace of students. I saw that there were a lot of gratitude journals (which are so important) but I did not see a lot of check in journals. So what did I do? I made one! I wanted to create something that would appeal to the students in your class, and make it easy for you as a teacher to check in with them as well.
Mindfulness for Students
In this google resource you are going to get a variety of slides to help your students with their social emotional learning, There is no ideal time to assign this so you can pick and choose the slides that you want to use and when you want to use them! I also think that this is a great idea for any grade level that uses Google with their students.
Each journal will also come with a cover page so that you are able to write the students name on the cover so you know who’s it is. There are slides for your students to discuss how they feel as well as what makes the happy. They can write about what is in their control and what they do not have control over.
I have also included a mindfulness breathing page so that students can remember to take deep breaths when things might be hard for them.
DIGITAL JOURNAL FOR GOOGLE
This journal is 100% digital as well and is apart of google slides. All you need to do is make a copy for each student and assign it in Google Classroom. I tried to make this as easy as possible so that you can check in on the mental health of your students.
I hope that you enjoy this resource and find it an engaging way to check in with your students! If you have any questions about the resource please do not hesitate to reach out and ask, I am here to help you with anything you need!
