Exciting and Engaging Sight Word Games

I am proud to announce that I am now offering editable sight word games in my Teachers Pay Teachers shop! This has been a long time in the making (like 8 months people) and I am excited to share that I created a product for you and your students to love and enjoy.

The first month being offered is April.  There are 5 sight word games that are included this month and they are all amazing.

  • Unicorns Unite
  • Over The Rainbow
  • Poppin’ Peeps
  • Exciting Earth Day
  • Popsicle Party

April sight word games are going to make your teaching so much easier.  Due to the games being editable, you can differentiate your instruction and allow each child to work at their pace, ensuring that self confidence is also being built during these lessons.  These games are easy to prep and prepare. I know your time is valuable so we don’t want to waste any of it. I am going to be using these games in April and I am also going to rotate them throughout the year with other games as the bundle begins to grow.

Let’s chat about editable games.  Why is this good for teachers? It allows each teacher to create their own sight word lists.  It would be excellent if every teacher had the exact same words that needed to be taught but we all know that is not the case.  Sight Word games should be customizable to fit the needs of your students.  These game are great for grouping, since each child will need a different level. This game is perfect for Pre-K, Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten…and let’s not forget first grade! Even those kiddos love a challenge that is fun.

Each month there are 5 engaging games for your students. Each game comes with editable cards as well as a write the room sheet. The games are small and easy to store, however we don’t want anything getting lost in the mix. To store my games, I like to use  sterilite containers. I use one for each month. It is a great way to store the games and ensure that they are safe.

These sight word games are meant to be used by various levels of students.  They are easy to learn and engaging at the same time.  One way that I like to use the games in my classroom is I print out a write the room sheet for each child.  I then place the sight word cards throughout the room and ask the students to walk around and write down the words that they find.  When they are done, I ask them to read them to me.  I then can check their fluency and see if they know the words.  This is a great way to utilize the game because it also gets students moving around the room.

Each game comes with editable colorful cards for you to print on and also comes with a write the room activity for your students!

As educators it is really important that we ensure that we are meeting the needs of the children.  These sight words games make it easy for each students to work at a different level. I am a big advocate for teaching in a fun and exciting way, even when it comes to sight words! Students learn through repetition but it doesn’t have to be boring!

This pack currently has 5 games for the month of April.  Each  month I will be uploading a new product to help you meet the needs of your students.  Beginning with the May sight words, I am going to create a bundle so you can purchase more than a month (and it will be discounted!)
